If you are on dialup and having trouble with not getting your emails, these steps may help. Please note that what this does is it tells your Outlook Express to delete messages with large attachments before you get them, so that you don't have to download them (which can cause them to get stuck and then you can't download any messages). This will allow for a smooth flow of emails into your Inbox, but it will also stop you from getting emails that have really large attachments (such as big photos, songs, or videos). The steps below limit the size of email that you can recieve to a 1 megabyte file.
1.
Open your Outlook Express
2.
Left click on “Tools” located at the top of your Outlook Express Window
3.
In the “Tools” drop down menu, left click on “Message Rules”
4.
Another menu will open, click on “Mail…”
5.
In menu “1) Select the Conditions for your rule:” please find “Where the message size is more then size” (Requires you to scroll down in menu)
6.
Left click on the small empty box next to “Where the message size is more then size” (this will place a check mark in the box).
7.
In menu “2) Select the Actions for your rule:” please find “Delete it from server” (Requires you to scroll down menu)
8.
Left click on the small empty box next to “Delete it from server” (this will place a check mark in the box).
9.
In menu “3) Rule Description (click on an underlines value to edit it)” left click the size link
10.
This will bring up a new window. In the box located in this window type “1000” (without quotation marks).
11.
Left click “OK” on this window
12.
In menu “4) Name of the rule:” please type in “Delete Large Emails” (without quotation marks).
13.
Left click on the button that says “OK”
14.
A new window will open. Please left click on the button that says “Apply Now…”
15.
Another window will open. Again left click on the button that says “Apply Now”
16.
Left click on the button that says “OK” on the new window
17.

18.
